Medical School Commencement Ceremony

2:00 pm, Saturday, June 13

Stanford Medical School

Buffet Luncheon for Graduates and Families starting at 11:30 am (CCSR lawn). Each graduate is entitled to ten luncheon tickets (including the graduate).*

Ceremony at 2:00 pm on the Dean's Lawn at the Medical School. Reception immediately following the ceremony (approximately 4:00 pm).**

Plan to arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony to get a seat under the canopy. Don't miss this BIG event! This is the MAIN event for me this weekend.

* Please let me know if you are interested in coming to the luncheon.

** You should definately plan to come to the ceremony! That's when I'll have my name called and my PhD advisor will "hood" me.

Stanford University Commencement Ceremony

9:30 am, Sunday, June 14

Stanford Stadium

No tickets are required and there are no limit to the number of guests. The complete schedule for the main campus ceremony can be viewed at http://commencement.stanford.edu/. The guest speaker for that ceremony is US Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.

This is the BIG Stanford-wide ceremony. The "wacky walk" is the graduates' so-called "dignified" march onto the stadium field.

• Dress for the heat; light clothing is advisable.
• Hats, visors, and sun block are recommended.
• Water will be available in the Main Quadrangle for Baccalaureate and in the Stadium for the Commencement ceremony, but you may wish to bring your own water as well.
• Light refreshments will be available for purchase.
• No large items, such as banners, posters, or umbrellas will be permitted, as they would block the view of other guests. Strollers are also not permitted.
